Doesn’t Time Fly?

Remember to always celebrate your successes, no matter how epic or how small.

·       If you believe you can do it, you probably can

·       If you want to do it, just do it

·       If you’re worried about doing it – what could possibly go wrong?

·       And if you’ve already done it – then go celebrate!

About this time 55 years ago I was getting my wardrobe ready for my first full-time role after full-time education.  A trainee secretarial job with a well-known brand and excellent prospects.  My first placement was in the Personnel Department.

Mum and Dad always said that I could only do my best and set my own standards.  Unfortunately they’re not around to see my successes today and neither is Grandad Clark – the man who taught me to bake cakes and then decorate them.  Very fancy!  Oh, and make great marmalade, too.

My husband (Brian Watt) was 80 a few weeks back and some people may know him from London Underground, where we met.  We had a wonderful celebration.  Me?  I’m still only 71 but I published my first book (of 3) when I was only 70 and I’m still working.

·       I write because I love sharing what I can about jobhunting

·       I bake magnificent cakes and decorate them because they bring joy

·       I love making sugar flowers because it’s relaxing (mostly)

·       I coach because I’m good at helping people find themselves

·       And I do all the above because it makes me happy to be me
